Common Copy Machine Problems

April 27, 2015 By Renee Palmer Leave a Comment

Broken Copy Machine

If you are dealing with a copy machine problem, call your Sunrise Office repair man right away. Your business day can come to a screeching stop if your copiers break.  There are a few common problems that occur with copy machines. Do any of these sound familiar?

Toner Problems

If your toner is runs low on ink or malfunctions, your copies and print-outs will come out blank.    This usually means it’s time for a new toner.  Because certain toners are compatible with certain copiers, our professionals will assist you in swapping them out so you do not have to worry about replacing it incorrectly or with the wrong cartridge.

Overheating

As with a car, your office copy machine overheats for many reasons.  Watch for warning messages displayed on your copier’s screen to indicate areas overheating.  Do not touch the machine yourself if you are unfamiliar with its mechanics.  You run the risk of seriously burning your hands and forearms when you try to repair a copy machine yourself.

Paper Jams

The leading cause of paper jams is using the wrong sized of paper.   Then again, the paper may not load into the machine correctly, offing spiraling around a rubber wheel or spindle intended to siphon the page through the machine.  Typically you can tug the jammed paper out yourself, and resume business as usual.  If your copier continues to jam, or stops performing altogether, it’s time to call Sunrise Office Solutions.

Dust and Debris

Dust and debris is a major culprit for copy machine malfunctions.  Dust accumulates in small places that actually halt production, contribute to paper jams and overheating.    There really isn’t anything you can do to prevent build-up yourself.  Hiring professional monthly maintenance is the best preventative measure you can take to avoid unexpected interruptions.
In many cases, small copy machine problems can be fixed with ease. If a minor problem is not resolved, it can quickly turn into a major one. Big problems are costly to repair so be sure to contact Sunrise Office Systems at 702-435-9600 at the first sign of trouble.

Step One To Save Money

Problem 1:
Copies are coming out blank on half of the copies

Possible Solution:
Make sure all paper guides are properly lined up in the trays. Sometimes the guides move when people are adding a new ream of paper. Call for service if this does not work.

Problem 2:
Copies have a line thru the page.

Possible Solution:
Make sure the document glass is extremely clean. A small speck from liquid paper would cause the line to show up. Call for service if this does not work.

Problem 3:
Paper jams.

Possible Solution:
Often time moisture will cause paper to jam. Try a new ream of paper to see if the same problem persists.

Call for service if this does not work.
